Well and reservoir management is a key activity after a field reaches (plateau) production. The objectives are to:
1. Maximise the economic value of remaining reserves by optimising production and recovery
2. Minimise capital investment and operating costs consistent with safe practises
These are achieved through monitoring and prediction of well and reservoir performance. Successful reservoir management depends on interdisciplinary teamwork & communication between geosciences, reservoir engineering, petrophysics, production engineering, well engineering and economics.
